Last week I basically finished the Kingston Station model. I still have some detail work to complete, such as installing the platform railings and gutters plus some weathering. I also need to build a back porch for the structure, but that will not be done until the creek bed by the station is completed. My wife and I drove to Baltimore for the weekend to participate in our grandson's birthday celebration. Part of the event was held at the B&O Railroad Museum, so it was a fun train weekend too. Pictured below is my model of the Kingston Station compared to the real thing. You will note that some features, like the windows and chimneys, are not exact duplicates of the original. I had to compromise as these parts are not commercially available and I did not want to take the time to scratch build these parts. However I am happy with the results.
The photo to the left is of the other side of the station. Now that the station is basically complete I can move on to the Kingston Plant structures, beginning with the main plant building. I'll also be working on roads and rough scenery features at the same time.
